EDNA  MAY GILBERT

27 March 1917 – 26 July 2002

It is with great sadness that we announce Mum’s passing.  Born to Albert and Ethel Thoroughgood in the Baildon district, where she was raised and went to school.  She married Gerald Gilbert of the Camlachie district where they farmed and raised their family.  After Gerald’s passing, Edna moved to Moose Jaw. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Gerald;  brothers, Joe and Norman; and sisters, Mary, Alice and Fonda.  She is survived by her family:  Bryan (Sharon); Del (Keith); Pat (Murray); Lin (Jen); twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren;  sisters-in-law, Myrtle, Dora, and Gertie; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 3:30 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.  Visitation Monday evening 7–9 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Foundation for Moose Jaw Union Hospital, 455 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Edna, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
