DR. D. IAN FARQUHAR

DR. D. IAN FARQUHAR of Moose Jaw, passed away Tuesday, 2nd of July, 2002, at the age of 73 years. Born in Blackburn, Lancaster, England, the only son of Dr. Joseph & Evelyn Farquhar, Ian was educated in England and graduated from Manchester University. He continued his education, specializing in Pathology.  Ian married Marie in England in 1958 and the couple came to Canada in 1968 where he continued to practice medicine in Western Canada.  He practiced sixteen years in Moose Jaw retiring in 1996.  Ian enjoyed astronomy and travel, particularly driving cars and was a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.  Predeceased by his parents, Ian is survived by his wife Marie and her family in the United Kingdom. Following cremation, A Celebration of Ian’s Life will be held on Friday, 5th of July, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan  Reverend Ian Payne will officiate.  Memorialization of cremated remains will take place privately at a later date. Memorials for the Canadian Liver Foundation, 2320 – 15th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 1A2 or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1, 2217 Hanselman Court., Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, S7L 9Z9 would be appreciated. In living memory of Ian, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
