ART ERICKSON

Arthur Leonard Erickson of Moose Jaw, passed away suddenly on August 17, 2002 at the age of 58 years. Art was born in Moose Jaw on September 2, 1943 and spent his early years at Darmody, Sask. He moved with his family to Moose Jaw when he was five. He attended Alexandra and William Grayson Schools. From the age of 15 he worked as a plumber until ill health forced him to retire in 1989 at the age of 46. He was a 25 year member of AA.  Art’s primary love was his family, but he also loved country music, caring for his trucks, fishing, and having coffee with friends. He was always there to listen to people and to offer encouragement.  Predeceased by his father, Leonard in 1989, he is survived by his mother, Laura;  wife, Sharon; children: Diana-Lee Muldar, and her children, Kelli and Jerod – Airdrie, Alta.; James, Sarah, and Amy at home in Moose Jaw; sister, Jenny (Gary) Ricken and their children: Marcy and her daughter Ariel, and Monty (Leslie); as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 2:00 pm.  Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.  Visitation Monday evening 7 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, S6H 4P2, or the Lupus Society of Sask., Box 88, Royal University Hospital, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, S7N 0W8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Art, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
