ALMA BROWN

With sadness the family of Alma Brown announces her passing on November 4, 2002.  Alma Harriet Smith was born to Ephriam and Harriet Smith of Eyebrow on July 19, 1912. The family later moved to the Parkbeg area where Alma met and married Ray Brown in 1935.  They farmed until 1969 when they retired to Mortlach.  They had one child born in 1954.  Alma is predeceased by her husband of 58 years in 1994; eight brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Bonnie and son-in-law, Dennis Hallborg; grandson, Christopher and granddaughters, Ashley and Erin.  Her family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care Mom received in the 2½ years she lived at Ina Grafton Gage Home.  She wondered if they hire only such wonderful people or if they were trained to be this way after they started to work there.  We also appreciate the care and compassion these past weeks by the staff of Pioneer’s Lodge.  Sincerest thank yous to Doreen Dahlgren and Daisy “Babe” Doig for the years of love, kindness, and support you gave all of us, and to the many others in Mom’s life who were so very good to her.  The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ina Grafton Gage Home, 200 Iroquois St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 4T3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Alma, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
