HAROLD BOON

Harold Raymond Boon of Moose Jaw , formerly of Davidson and Regina , passed away February 4, 2002 .  Harold was the oldest of four boys born in Davidson to Mattie Marie (Jensen) and Ernest H. Boon.  He lived in the Davidson district until his marriage when they moved to Regina .  Harold spent his later years at Chez Nous in Moose Jaw .  Throughout his life Harold enjoyed the company of others through cards, board games, curling, dancing, billiards, carpet bowling, television sports, bowling, golf, dining out, and visiting.  His visits to his family and friends were his treasures.  He will always be remembered by his family for his quick wit and his comments that brought laughter and sometimes surprise to those listening.  Predeceased by the mother of his children, Grace (nee Juhnke); his second wife, Bea (Blackmore); his parents, Marie  and Ernest; brothers:  Gordon and Clifford; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Boon, Lena McGladdery;  brothers-in-law, Si Dean, Ignace Snoj, Earl Doupe, Martin Juhnke, Art McGladdery, and Howard Reicken.  Harold is survived by his daughter: Adele (Fred) Owatz and their children:  Dr. Todd (Sandra) Owatz and Krista Owatz – Moose Jaw;  Dr. Brett Owatz – United Arab Emirates;  son, Wayne (Heather) Boon  and their children:  Shane, Jocelyn, and Taneal – St.Albert, AB.;  brother, Clarence – Virden, MB.;  sisters-in-law:  Alma Snoj, Olive Dean, Edna Reicken, Hazel (Earl) Johnson, and May Doupe;  Bea’s children:  Sharon (Ken) Church and their children:  Vanna Gay Shaw and her children.  Also many special nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.  Funeral Services will be held at Minto United Church , 1036 Seventh Ave.N.W., Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 11:00 am .  Reverend John Carley will officiate.  Family memorialization will follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E. , Moose Jaw , S6H 1H3 , would be appreciated.  In living memory of Harold, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
