GRANT ANDERSON

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Grant Eugene Anderson on Sunday October 13, 2002 at the age of 78 years.  He was born on July 27, 1924 in Hoquim, Washington, U.S.A. Grant served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and returned to Winnipeg, then moving to Moose Jaw where he married his dear wife, Helen on February 2, 1949.  Grant served with the Moose Jaw Fire Department, retiring as Deputy Chief in 1985.  He was a well known business man until selling Freeman Agencies in 1978. Grant enjoyed fishing, golfing, curling, playing cards until the wee hours, and especially enjoyed his family and garden. Grant will be sadly missed by his wife, Helen; son, Del (Bev) – Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Stacy (Mike) – Cochrane, AB.; Derek (Carrie) and great- granddaughter, Kali – Moose Jaw; Ken (Deb) – Granum, AB.; daughter, Penny (Don) McRobb – Regina; grandchildren: Tisha and great-granddaughter, Jade – Regina;  Jock (Sherri) and great- grandson, JR – Brooks, AB.; and his many other relatives and friends.  Grant always created a loving home for his family and friends.  He will always be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile and his love.  In keeping with Grant’s wish, there will be no funeral or memorial services.  Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Fire Fighters Burn Fund, Box 244, Regina, Sask. S4P 2Z6, or the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, would be appreciated. In living memory of Grant, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
