ELIZABETH NICHOLS |
|
It is with great sadness we mark the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Elizabeth (Ginger) Nichols on January 31, 2008 – her 60th wedding anniversary. Mom is survived by her twin sister, Mary and brother Roland of Vancouver, and youngest sister Edith of Surrey, BC; She will be greatly missed by her children; Cec of Edmonton, and Gerry of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Becky and family of St.Albert, and Steve and family of Edmonton. Ginger took great delight in her great-granddaughter Nyall and was heartbroken at the loss of her great-grandson Kaelan in 2004. She would have loved her new great-granddaughters Nova and Emily. Mom is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she enjoyed having a chat with over a cup of tea; also her many friends and co-workers at the Army and Navy Store. Mom loved her job and all the people she encountered. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Cec in 2006. The two spent countless hours gardening together and watching their favourite sports teams on TV. She is predeceased as well by her mother and father, James and Charlotte McFall; her sisters, Florence, Dorothy, and Margaret; her brother, Jack; and baby sisters Clara and Ruby; also many four-footed members of her family, including Dolly, pictured with her above. Mom wrapped her arms around all of us every day of her life. She was the dynamic, loving little lady who held us all together. She taught us all that family is the most important thing there is. Mom found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was happy, out-going, a lot of fun. She was always interested in all that went on around her. Mom loved life and we loved her. Rest in peace Mom, you’ve earned it.– Love your family. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Tuesday February 5, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In living memory of Elizabeth, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home. |
