DEE McLAREN 

(Video Tribute)

Dee Alexander McLaren passed away on January 13, 2008 with his family by his side. Dee was born in Moose Jaw on January 31, 1941. He went to school at Clay Hill, Boharm and Peacock.  Dee married Wendy in October 1961 and started farming with his father. He later bought a farm of his own which he operated until retiring due to health reasons in 1997. Dee had a love for farming and enjoyed it in all aspects.  Moving to Moose Jaw in 1997 his passions turned to gardening, camping, going to Yuma in the winter and playing cards with friends. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Bob and Doreen McLaren, sister Marj, brother-in-law Stan, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarke and Nell Thompson, and brother-in-law Jim Poole.  He is survived by and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Wendy, sons Kevin (Gaileen), Duncan (Laura), Dan (Denyse); grandchildren Dustin, Chelsea, Tyson, Cody, Alyssa, Kellsie, Adrian, Paige, Nick, and Amy; and one great-grandson Colten; brothers, Bob (Phyllis), Bernie (Lynn), Doug (Wendy);  sister-in-law Donna Poole and brother-in-law Ron (Liz) Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  A Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday January 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm.  Pastor John Duerksen will officiate. Private family memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  Memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St.E., S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Dee, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
