ARTHUR KWASNICKI

Arthur Joseph Kwasnicki, beloved husband of Jeannine, passed away peacefully at Regina General Hospital on February 23, 2008. Art was born in Maxstone, SK on December 5, 1926 to Michael and Michaelina Kwasnicki. Art grew up on the farm west of Scout Lake, and following his marriage to Jeannine Gaudry, they raised their family there, continuing to farm and ranch until his retirement in 1986. Art was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbours and could do almost anything. He was an accomplished welder, mechanic, and carpenter.  Following his retirement, he and Jean moved to Assiniboia and he took up a hobby of working on small motors, motorcycles and ATV’s.  Art also custom combined in the US and Canada from 1952 until 1986. Art enjoyed getting together with his friends, having a few drinks and playing cribbage.  Art and Jean moved to Moose Jaw in 1997.  He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters Olivia, Mary and Rita, and two brothers Alfred and Larry.  Art is survived by his wife, Jean; son Alan (Leanne), daughter Wendy; grandchildren Jesse and Stephanie; brothers and sisters:  Anthony, Mickey, Richard, Carl, Raymond, Hilda, Cecile, Lavina, Freda, and Josephine; and many nieces and nephews.  Art will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and lovingly remembered by all who shared a part of his life!  An Evening Prayer Service will be held at the Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St., on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church on Thursday February 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm.  Father Tony Sevali C.S.Sp. will be the Celebrant. Memorialization will take place at a later date. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Sask. Lung Association, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Art, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
