JESSIE DAVIES

Jessie Davies (nee Gillan) passed away on April 7, 2008. Jessie was first born to Joseph and Margaret Gillan on March 12, 1914 in Moose Jaw, SK. She received her public school education at King Edward and after graduating high school at Central Collegiate she trained as a nurse. She met her future husband Roy Davies in Moose Jaw and they were married in Maple Creek. They had three sons (Robert, David and Glenn) and one daughter (Mary Lou). She was especially proud of her family and loved to bake, sew, knit, read, travel and garden. Jessie was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret, husband Roy, brother George, sister Margaret and son Robert. She leaves to mourn her son David (Marsha), Orillia,ON; daughter Mary Lou Statham (Ray), North Vancouver, BC; son Glenn (Donna), Moose Jaw, SK; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend David Moore will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Moose Jaw Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, c/o 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.  In living memory of Jessie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
