FLORENCE CRAMPTON

Mrs. Florence Edith Crampton of Moose Jaw, aged 79 years, passed away peacefully at Moose Jaw Union Hospital on February 19, 2008. Flo was raised in Woodrow, Sask., and worked at the Post Office there while in high school, then went to the Business College in Moose Jaw. After graduating, she worked for the Anderson-Prugsley John Deere dealership in Moose Jaw before moving to Toronto where she worked for a hide and fur company, became active in the CCF, and took up skiing. She moved back to Woodrow a few years later and married Jim Crampton of Woodrow in 1955.  Flo was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Woodrow Yola Club, and was a leader for Girl Guides in Lafleche. She also taught Sunday School in Woodrow. She enjoyed curling and was very active in her community. Flo and Jim bought a house in Moose Jaw in 1980, and lived in Moose Jaw full-time when Jim retired from farming. Predeceased by her father in 1954 and mother in 1961, Flo is survived by her husband Jim Crampton, son Ross (Maxine) Crampton, daughters Susan (Doug) Gillett and Joanne Crampton, and grandchildren Lisa Crampton, Kurt and Patricia Gillett, and Madison Crampton.  The Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday February 22, 2008 at 3:30 pm.  Reverend Denise Doerksen will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in Flo's name to the Arthritis Society, #110 – 2550 12th Ave., Regina, S4P 3X1, would be greatly appreciated. In living memory of Flo, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
