Guido
Luciano Filippi
passed away on August 23, 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia
at the age of 53. He
is survived by his daughter Crystal and her sister Candace, his
parents Piera and Gino Filippi, brother Poalo (Veba) Filippi,
sister Rita (Darcy) Holowenko, nieces and nephews Angela (Darnell)
Kiriak and their son Alex, Lisa (Tim) Bennett, Aidan Holowenko,
and Olivia Holowenko. Guido
was born in Lethbridge, A
father, a brother, always a son a
kid at heart, acting in fun. A
sense of humour, snorting laugh and smirking grin in
spite of the places you have been. For
awhile your life seemed contentment bound until
it got all turned around. A
trouble life from the start, bad
choices made after a broken heart. We
will remember your love for your mother and
your teasing actions of a brother, the
pride you had as a father as
you took in one and born another. Sleep
well at last, no longer roam, your
restless soul is on its way home. You’re
once again contentment bound. This time, you won’t be turned around. In living memory of Guido, a tree will be planted by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home. |

Guest Book Randy Reeve - Okanagan Falls, BC: I loved you like a brother Guido. You can't always get what you what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need. Glen Paul Dutchak - Moose Jaw, SK: Deepest sympathy to the Filippi Family, I hope that Guido's family finds reason in their suffering and loss. I know that someday I will see you again and talk about the good things in life until then take care my old friend. Debbie Visentini Abell - Moose Jaw, SK: Guido- I will always remember your kind and gentle soul. You were always loved by your family and will continue to be forever... Helen Sayer - Moose Jaw, SK: What can I say about Guido? I can say that I grew up on the same street in Moose Jaw as Guido, later marrying but continued to live on the same street and became good friends with his parents. Although I was older I recall him as a cute little boy who was full of personality and full of fun. He was the type of child who reminds you of Dennis the Menace, constantly being reprimanded and scolded by his parents. He gave them a 'run for their money' and at that time they didn't have much of that. But he was so likable, so friendly, the type of person who always found time to talk with people, no matter what age or standing in the community. Yet he spoke softly and quietly. I don't think he ever recognized his special qualities or his untapped potential. He had what I understand as charisma, and I wish to God he could have used his special gifts to have a better life for himself. I thought a lot of Guido. Joe Melia - Agassiz, BC: Sorry to hear about Guido's death. I remember him quite well. I am sure he will be greatly missed. Tony Tolley - Moose Jaw, SK: Worked at railroad with Guido, many fond memories looking back on those times. My deepest sympathy and condolence to the family at this time. Unable to attend. May his spirit live on and find eternal peace. Doug and Cathy Marr - Moose Jaw, SK: Our condolences to the Family....at this time of sorrow! |
