Marilyn  and Jeff  Wall - SK: What can you say about a big brother? He had to have chocolate fudge and Mom's raisin pie at Christmas. Calling," Hey Rodger?" "That's my name..don't wear it out!" Being introduced to sci fi by him and enjoying watching Trek and Star wars together along with Dad and my hubby Jeff. Knowing that teens called him "Mr.C." because of Happy Days. The long talks around the kitchen table trying to solve the world's problems. Groaner puns and tall stories. Hockey mania during the Russia/Canada series. Shutterbug with a camera at the ready. Seeing his grief and his joy... pictures flash through my head. Memories matter and are important. Hold on to them.

Ruth Thiele: Dana & Vincent and family, very sadden to hear of Rodgers passing. I was one of his first students in Spring Valley his first school. I was student, babysitter and friend...Then years later when we all ended in Moose Jaw we connected again and continued our friendship. As the years pasted  the friendship remained the last few years your chats often where of the days pasted and the talks of our shared joy of been parents &grandparents. Also his wanting to travel the country on his bike . I think it so very nice to have gone from student, babysitter to life long friends. Not many people have had a teacher who has been in their life for life Thank you Rodger for that. Rodger will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Anne Morrison - Houston, TX: Rodger will live forever through everyone he has generously gifted with his love, his enthusiasm, his understanding and his inspiration. "Love is not written on paper, for paper can be erased. Nor is it etched on stone, for stone can be broken. But it is inscribed on a heart and there it shall remain forever." The last email I received from him was in March, in response to a joke I sent him: "Good stuff!! Sorry haven't replied earlier -- computer crashed just a couple of weeks before Christmas - lost everything - had to get a new computer (OUCH!)  Also health hasn' been good lately: just spent from March 1 to this afternoon in hospital - still need to do some recuperating! Will try to talk to you later, OK.  Take care!!"
