ROBERT BUSHNELL

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Bushnell announces his passing on October 11, 2007.  Robert is survived by and leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Sheila, daughter Anna, son Brian (Melanie), half-sister Judy (Doug), and their daughter Hannah; brother and sister-in-law George and Ada Wilson, and their children Carla and David; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.  Robert served his country for 20 years in the Canadian Navy, stationed in BC, NWT, and Saskatchewan, as well as on the Naval Ships HMCS Provider and HMCS MacKenzie.  After his military career, he worked at the CNIB and was the Administrative Director of The Persephone Theatre.  In 1983 Robert graduated with a certificate in Health Care Administration which he put to use as Nursing Care Administrator in Kamsack, SK and Hospital Administrator in Coronach, SK. Robert touched many lives, every place he had been. A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held at St.Andrew’s United Church, 60 Athabasca St. E., on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Nobuko Iwai will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104 – 2301 Ave. C. North, Saskatoon, S7L 5Z5 or the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Bob and Darlene Smith - Moose Jaw, Sask.: Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sheila and family.  We knew Robert through his visits to Providence Place.  Many a navy story were shared between the men.  Robert was always interested in our life and family.  His interest in the GARU and Maguire Centre was greatly appreciated also.  He was a great man and his presence will be missed by all. Our sympathies...
