It
is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of
Margaret Babich of Pioneers Lodge,
Moose Jaw. Margaret died peacefully December 12, 2007 at the age of 85
years, after a lengthy battle with several illnesses. She was born February 21, 1922 at Limerick,
Saskatchewan. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Adam and Caroline Linkert,
three sisters, two brothers, son - Brent, and husband - John.
She is survived by her children: Sandra (Jim) Russell –
Saskatoon; Randy (Brenda) – Moose Jaw; Marla (Tom) Gamble –
Moose Jaw; Bette Jayne (Stephen) Pope – Regina; sisters: Freda
Foster – Calgary; Yvonne Tyler – Chaplin; grandchildren:
Shauna (Don); Laurie, Natasha (Chad), Nathan, Jayson, Laura
(Steven), Stephanie; great-grandchildren:
Matthew, Kendall, and Tessa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret attended Central Collegiate, Normal School, and took
her lab tech training at the Providence Hospital, Moose Jaw.
She taught school in Mazenod and Rouleau, Sask. She went on
to be employed at the Associated Medical Clinic, Moose Jaw.
Margaret married John Babich, June, 1945 and together they
raised five children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, bowling, and canning.
Margaret was a member of the Anavets Ladies Auxiliary 252 for
many years.
She loved music, dancing, bingo, needlework, gardening,
outdoors and baseball.
Margaret took great delight in being with her family.
She came to live at Pioneers Lodge May 21, 2003.
Margaret was dearly loved by her family, friends, relatives
and staff.
The Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J.Jones &
Son Chapel on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 1:30 pm.
Linda Owens will officiate.
Private Family interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery, a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer Association, #301 – 2550 12th
Ave. Regina,
S4P 3X1, or to Pioneers Lodge, 1000 Albert St.,
Moose Jaw,
S6H 2Y2, would be appreciated.
In living memory of Margaret, a tree will be planted
in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
