JACK ARMSTRONG

The family and friends of John (Jack) Donald Armstrong, grieve the loss of his joyful presence as he passed away gently and quietly in the arms of his wife on Friday January 26, 2007. Jack and Bernie had celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. Jack is predeceased by his parents, George and Etta (Hershey) Armstrong, brother Walter, who died serving his country in WWII, brother Bob and sisters, Irene, June, Laura, and Lois.  He is survived by his wife, Bernie; his children:  Jackie Armstrong, Shirley Reid, Janice (Ron) Boychuk, and Kathy Tressel;  grandchildren:  Michael Reid (Brandi) and great-grandchild Emma; Wesley Reid (Twyla) and great-grandchild Ashtin; Marty Tressel (Jen), Jesse Tressel (Julie); Sarah, Kristin, and Jenna Boychuk;  and sisters, Dorothy, Grace, Marjorie, and Phyllis.  Jack came from a very large family so there are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; great in every sense of the word.  Jack served as a rear gunner in the Airforce in WWII.  He met Bernie while working at Patterson Motors, where he had a very long, enjoyable career.  He served the Moose Jaw community in many ways, some of which were: on the Hospital Board, the Arthritis Society, as an Alderman, and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and I.O.O.F. The past three years Jack and Bernie have had a special family at Chez Nous Senior Citizen’s Home.  We are so grateful for the love and care of the staff.  The Service of Remembrance will be held at Zion United Church on Thursday February 1, 2007 at 2:00 pm.  Pastor Larry Hasmatali will officiate.  Memorialization will follow.  Memorials to the charity of choice, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Jack, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

We will miss him and enjoy the good memories.  Our Love
