ERNEST ALLEN

Ernest Redvers Allen, of Moose Jaw, passed away February 27, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Ernest was born June 23, 1922 in Kerrobert, SK, the youngest of five boys born to Walter and Emily Allen. He loved being on the farm.  In his career, Ernie worked for the Wartime Pricing Commission, MacDonald's Consolidated and the Co-operative Association. He happily married Margaret Isabel Simmons in 1945. They lived in North Battleford, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Luseland, Biggar and Innisfail, AB before moving back to Moose Jaw in retirement. Wherever they lived, Ernie and Issy were involved in their children's lives, their church, Masons, Job's Daughters, the United Appeal, the Arthritis Society and others. They loved to dance, go for walks, hockey games in Weyburn, get together with friends and family, tell a few jokes and then play a card game. Ernie was devoted to Isabel's care throughout her years suffering from arthritis. He was inspiring in that dedication. Sadly, Isabel died in 2003. Ernie leaves behind one brother, Walter, of Calgary, AB. He will be missed by his three children: son Clint (Diana); daughter Margaret (Randy) Udahl; son Kent (Kathy); grandchildren: Cynthia (Craig) Berry; Carla (Todd) Markus and their daughter Isabelle June; Lauren and Dominic Allen;  members of the Simmons family and many friends. We are comforted knowing he goes from family to family. The Celebration of Ernie’s life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Monday March 5, 2007 at 1:30 pm.  Father Dennis Dickson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at the Columbarium, Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2320 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, or the Arthritis Society, 110 – 2550 12th Ave., Regina, S4P 3X1, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Ernie, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
