SHARON ALBRECHT

Sharon Gayle Albrecht (nee Bender) of Moose Jaw, passed away on January 1, 2007 at the age of 62 years. Sharon was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on November 23, 1944. She married Mervin Albrecht 1963 shortly after which they moved to Calgary to start a family. Sharon spent most of her early family life as a devoted housewife and mother raising her son Bradley and daughter Tiffany. In 1974, Mervin and Sharon purchased a paint store and the family moved to Nelson, BC where she then spent the next 12 years. After her divorce from Mervin, Sharon returned to Moose Jaw. In 1997, Sharon became a proud grandmother of Kyle Albrecht and then in 2000, Curtis Albrecht was born. She had a special love of her grandchildren and will be remembered as a wonderful grandmother. Sharon is predeceased by her father Albert, her maternal mother Agnes, sister Joyce and brother Ronnie. She is survived by her son, Brad (Kathie) and their children, Curtis and Kyle – Cranbrook, BC; daughter, Tiffany (Blair) Simister – Saskatoon; her mother, Jordis Bender – Moose Jaw; brothers:  Bob (Karen) Bender and Blaine Bender; sisters, Natalie (Tom) Keeler and Paulette (Nick) Wakeford – all of Moose Jaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J. Jones and Son Chapel on Saturday January 6, 2007 at 2:30 pm.  Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate.  A Graveside Service will follow at Sunset Cemetery where Sharon's ashes will be placed in her father's grave. Memorials to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 261 High St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 1S7, or to the Children's Health & Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, 850 - 410 22nd St. E., Saskatoon, SK S7K 5T6.  In living memory of Sharon, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
