LOIS AGAR

Lois Jean Agar, (nee Lawson), of Moose Jaw passed away at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on June 23, 2007, at the age of 74 years. Beloved wife and mother, Lois was born February 7, 1933 in Shipman, SK. She came to Moose Jaw with her family as a small child.  She attended Westmount Public School and Central Collegiate High School.  Lois met Leland and they were married in Moose Jaw on January 17, 1953. She worked at numerous jobs including the Civic Centre, Capitol Theatre, and also the Golden West Drive-in concessions for 24 years.  She and Leland owned LeRoy’s Hairstyling for many years, as well Evergreens Care Home for 17 years.  Lois was an extremely hardworking and organized woman and mother.  Predeceased by her father Jack Lawson in 1984, her mother Jessie Lawson in 2006, as well as two nephews, she is survived by Leland, her loving husband of 54 years;  six children: Debbie (Dennis) Scott – Moose Jaw;  Brent – Fort McMurray, AB; Terry (Ken) Stein – Grand Forks, BC; Melanie (Dave) Freeman - Moose Jaw; Stephanie (Jeff) Crichton – Moose Jaw; and Deidre (Graham) Wilson – Moose Jaw; grandchildren, Trevor, Chad, Jaimy Scott; Sean Freeman and Megan Agar; Kevin and Jacy Stein; Travis and Kyle Freeman; Blake and Jorden Tremblay and Brodie Crichton;  Brodie and Keenan Wilson; as well as six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Lloyd) Ducher, and Florence (Don) Finkbeiner – all of Nanaimo, BC; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. “You were the glue that kept our family together.” In keeping with Lois’ wishes, a private family service will be held.  Memorialization will take place at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Lois, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Cheryl Dixon - Yorkton: She was a caregiver. She was a mom-like figure for many of us girls who worked for her. She was tough. I was tough. I guess that is why we had a unique relationship. I won't forget her.
