ROBERT DAWSON

Robert Gordon Dawson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 22, 2006, with his family at his side. Robert was born (May 6, 1926), raised and died in the house his father built in 1926 in the Mayberry district.  Dad left the farm for a few short years to work at Swift’s and Robin Hood Mills, returning to the family farm for good in 1948.  He enjoyed the land, his black angus cattle and square dancing, but most of all, his life centred around his children and grandchildren. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Madeleine; his daughters: Vivian (Al) Greenwood – Moose Jaw, Gail Dawson, son-in-law Clarence Hack – Victoria; grandchildren: Ryan, Cody (Amy), Tyler, Drew (Michele), Holly, Haley, Lane Greenwood – all of Moose Jaw, and Kristian Hack – Victoria; great-grandchildren:  Hailey and Riley; sister Joyce Larrivee – Gabriola Island, BC; brothers-in-law, Edward Lowe – Lucky Lake, Dave (Melody) Lowe – Drinkwater,  Phin Landgraff – Vancouver; sisters-in-law, Justine Lowe – Lucky Lake, Lillian Dagel, Marian (Don) Brown – Moose Jaw, Elsie Lowe – Regina, Ruby Dawson – Vancouver; numerous nieces, nephews, and special family friends.  He is predeceased by sisters, Viola (Pat), and Gloria; and brothers, Stan and Thomas (Tink). A Tribute to Dad’s life will be held at the Eagle’s Club on Saturday April 1, 2006 from 2 – 4 pm.  Special thanks to Jo-Ann, Georgina, Dr. VanHeerden, and Home Care staff.  Your hugs and tender loving care was appreciated.  In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
