ROSE CORDICK

It is with sadness that the family of Rose Cordick, age 76, of Moose Jaw, announces her passing on September 28, 2006. Rose was born on the family farm near Keystown, SK in 1930. She married George Cordick on July 27, 1949.  Rose followed George with the Pool Elevator to Val Jean, Aquadell, and Halvorgate where they resided until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1991.  Rose was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family deeply, and also enjoyed horses, music, dancing, playing cards, her garden and her dogs.  Rose was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, as well as active in both curling and bowling in her younger years.  She could always be counted on to help with any community event. Rose is predeceased by her son Gary in 1954, husband George in 2001, her parents Isabella and Willard Brooks, and brothers, Clarence, Ben and Charlie. She leaves to mourn three children: Howard (Kathie), Deb (Al) Bennett and Rod (Mary Anne); special grandchildren: Terry, Crissie, Levi, Crystal, Jason, and Gary; as well as special great-grandchildren: Adeena and Dylan;  sisters, Olive and Jean; brothers, Harvey, Gordon and Barry; and brother-in-law, Stanley Cordick.  She also leaves to mourn her friend and companion, her little dog Candy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with Rose’s wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St.W. S6H 2M2, or the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, First Floor Medicine, 455 Fairford St.E., S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Rose, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
