Giuseppe
Giovanni (Joe/Joseph) Casarin, aged
74 years of Moose Jaw, passed away in Hospital on Sunday February 19, 2006. Giuseppe is predeceased by his parents, sister Teresina
Sattalo, brother-in-law Santin Sattalo, and father-in-law Tony Tosin
- all in Italy. He
will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 37
years, Loretta;
son Luigi (Carol) – Brooks, AB and granddaughter Kimberley
– Red Deer, AB;
daughter Lucia – Moose Jaw; brother Adam Casarin – Moose
Jaw; sister Bruna (Giovanni) Paiaro, nephews Lou (Donna) Paiaro, and
Gianni Paiaro and their families – all of Calgary; and
numerous other relatives in Italy. Giuseppe was born on June 27, 1931 in Trebaselghe
Sant-Ambrogio, Padova,
Italy. He came to
Canada, settling in Moose Jaw
in 1956.
He was a hard worker, starting out working for the Canadian
Pacific Railroad, later at Robin Hood Mills.
Then during the rest of his working years he worked for
numerous construction companies, ending with his retirement from
Band City Construction in July 1995. Before becoming very ill, his family was his first priority.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, helping friends out, wine making,
talking with neighbours, just to name a few. The
Evening Prayer Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son
Chapel on Wednesday February 22, 2006 at 7:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church, 1064 Third Ave. N.E., on Thursday February 23, 2006 at 10:00 am. Father Alex Osei will be Mass Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosedale
Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
