VERNA A. BYFORD

VERNA AILEEN BYFORD passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Born in Moose Jaw December 14, 1914, Verna received her education at Boharm Public School and high school by correspondence. She was a member of the United Church. Predeceased by her parents, Cora and Nelson Switzer and step-mother, Lillian; husband, Arthur; three sisters and one brother, Verna is survived by her two daughters: Joan (Eldon) North of Moose Jaw and Heather (Donald) Johns of Regina; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Myrtle Snider of  Richmond, B.C., and Mary Lawrence of Moose Jaw, as well as several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  In living memory of Verna, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
