VELMA
EVELYN BRUCE of
Moose Jaw, formerly of Limerick,
Saskatchewan
departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. Velma
was born July 16, 1908 in Ottawa,
Ontario, and as an infant came with her family, by train, to the Limerick
District. Velma
married Andrew P. Bruce in 1952 and the couple farmed in that
district until moving to Moose Jaw. Predeceased by Andrew, her loving husband of twenty-five years,
her parents Robert and Ann Sweet and five sisters and three
brothers. Velma is survived by her nieces, nephews and their
families, as well as many close friends. The Funeral Service
will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel,
Moose Jaw. Margaret Foley
will officiate. Interment
will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for
family and friends will be held Thursday (this evening), 7:30-9
p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, for those so wishing, memorial
donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Firefighters Charity Fund, 1205 Main St. N.,
Moose Jaw,
S6H 6M3 or to the Salvation Army, 175 First Ave. N.E.,
Moose Jaw,
S6H 0Y9. In living memory of Velma, a tree will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
