FRED BRADFORD

Fred Bradford passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Thursday January 19, 2006 at the age of 96 years. Fred was born on July 25, 1909 to Bowyer and May Bradford at Moose Jaw and grew up on the homestead south of Lawson, SK. Fred started his farming life driving an eight horse outfit seeding at the age of ten years, along with his mother, when his Dad suffered poor health for a few months.  He went on in a farming career in the Central Butte district until harvesting his last crop at the age of ninety years. He met and later married Alice Voisey on November 10, 1935. Together they farmed and raised a family of four boys. Fred had a great love for his Creator, the Lord’s creation and for his family.  He is predeceased by his wife Alice on March 30, 2005; his parents, Bowyer and May; brothers, Arthur, Dave, Frank, and Lloyd; and sister Nellie; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Alice Voisey; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; three nephews and two nieces. Fred leaves to mourn his passing, sons:  Mel (Ferne), Doug (Karen), Lyle (Louise) and Cecil (Nancy);  grandchildren: Denise (Lonnie) Smith, Kelvin (Lori) Bradford, Lynne (Jim) Kosma, Colin Bradford, Wendy Bradford (Darren Mitchell), Kara Lee (Stacy) Lund, Wayne (Heather) Bradford, Mark (Danneilia) Bradford, Neil Bradford, and Andrew Bradford; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Bud (Irene) Bradford; sister, Thelma (Harold) Dunn; sisters-in-law, Esther Bradford, Mildred Colwell, Marion (Egon) Neilson, Torchy Voisey, and Mona Voisey; many nieces, nephews and many friends. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Monday January 23, 2006 at 11:00 pm. Lloyd Kneesh and Anne Malcolm officiating. Interment will follow at the Central Butte Cemetery at 3:30 pm. Memorials to the Sask. Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated. In living memory of Fred, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
