FRED BILYK

On Wednesday, April 5, 2006, FRED BILYK passed away peacefully in his sleep. Fred was born September 3, 1917 at Gorlitz, Saskatchewan, son of Metro and Polly Bilyk and brother to several siblings. Fred had many hobbies and interests. He especially enjoyed nature and the outdoors, gardening and cooking. Fred proudly and honorably served his country during World War II and was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Army and Navy Vets and the Eagles.  Fred was a very kind and thoughtful person who enjoyed helping others.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother. Predeceased by his parents, several siblings and daughter, Brenda Bilyk, Fred was the loving father of three daughters, Dorothy Jean, Brenda J. and Arlette Jane and grandfather of seven children: Colin, Ryan, Sarah, Kelly, Adrian, London and Patrick and brothers: John Bilyk and Nick Bilyk.  The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel.  Padre Doug Shepherd will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at the Chapel by Moose Jaw Branch #59. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, 268 High St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 1S8.
