It
is with deep sadness that the family of Ella D. Benson (Usher,
Cronk) announces that on February
6, 2006,
she lost her battle with cancer. The family takes comfort in the fact that she is now with
her Lord and Savior and free from the pain. Ella was born in Central
Butte
on July
8, 1938. She moved to Moose
Jaw
as a child in 1948 and it was here she later met and married
Thomas Usher. Together
they had five children. Ella
later married second husband James Benson. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking and bowling as well as
spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her parents, Leigh (1957) and Thelma (1985),
second husband, James Benson (1987), her brother, Leonard Cronk
(1985) and her sister, Ruby Bridges (2003), Ella is survived by
her five children: Cliff Usher, Carol (Ian) Usher-Dunn, Dianna
(Les) Usher-Henry, Bradley (Barb) – all of Moose Jaw and John
(Vivian) of Saskatoon; two sisters: Maryenn Olson of Kamloops,
B.C. and Vera Porter of Guelph, Ont., brother, David Cronk of
Kamloops, B.C., as well as her former husband and friend, Thomas
Usher. Ella has
sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as
several nieces and nephews. In
keeping with Ella’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private family graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, Ella requested that memorial donations
be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B
