Allan
Balfour of
Moose Jaw, passed away Thursday September 28, 2006
at the age of 99 years.
He was born in Kincardeneshire,
Scotland
on
July 17, 1907. He came to
Canada
with his family in 1914, settling in the Willows district near
Assiniboia, where he farmed for many years.
Allan married Ida Puddell in October 1938.
They retired to James Street in Moose Jaw
in the early 1970’s, then later moved to Langdon
Towers. Allan and Ida enjoyed many trips during the winters to
Florida
and Texas, and visiting relatives in BC.
Allan also enjoyed playing cards and board games, and loved
to watch curling. Due to ill health, Allan was admitted to
Providence Place, where he resided for the past 3 years.
Allan is predeceased by two sisters, Doreen and Elizabeth,
and a brother James. He is survived by his wife, Ida; and many other relatives.
A Celebration of Allan’s life will be held at
W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Monday October 2, 2006
at 1:30 pm
. Reverend Frank Mitchell will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Memorials to a charity of choice, would be appreciated. In
living memory of Allan, a tree will be planted in Wakamow
Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
