Guest Book Bernie Forbes - Victoria, BC: The Finlayson Family: Your dad's passing will be noted and felt by his former students, many of whom benefited from his teachings and guidance and went on to distinguished careers elsewhere. His tenure in Mortlach High School earned him the highest respect. The establishment of a local scholarship to honor him speaks for itself. Bill's active participation in local sports and enlistment in the RCAF reaffirmed his strong support for community and his country at war. His ambition to become a grain farmer encouraged him to purchase a 320 acre farm west of Mortlach. His efforts to convert this rock pile into a waving field of golden grain was perhaps his greatest challenge. This was made more difficult as he attempted to keep the old John Deere tractor and number one son working at the same time. The tractor was more dependable! The thoughts of Vonnie, myself and the family are with you this day. Bernie. Ron & Connie Forbes - Red Deer, AB: Sorry to hear of Uncle Bills passing, I have a lot of good memories of him at the farm and family gatherings. He was a great uncle. Ron Forbes Patti and Dave Gamble - Innisfail, Alberta: The Finlayson Family We send our deepest sympathy in the loss of Uncle Bill. Lots of good warm memories of sitting around Cam's kitchen table. I wish we all could be there as a family. Love, Patti Joanne McCormick - Calgary, AB: JoAnn & Family; Please know that my brother Pat and I pass along our deepest sympathy to you at this sad time.
