MARY ERFLE

Mary Frances Erfle (nee Birss), born on June 14, 1928 in the Limerick district, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2005, with her family at her side.  Mary will be long and lovingly remembered by all who knew her as a kind, gentle, selfless person. She enjoyed curling, playing softball and bridge in her younger years, later enjoyed watching the games on TV.  Her family was most important to her, leaving them to mourn a wonderful role model.  Mary is survived by her five children: Norman Czernick (Corinne), Christine, Adrian (Ellen), and Marshall;  Louise (Grant) McLeod, Leah, Deanna (Corey), Carla (Collin), Kaela, Madison; Linda (Grant) Henning, David, Heather, Michelle (Josh); Cathy Lyons (Dave), Mary Louise (Ofe), Alayah, Khaleyl, Keonna; Tara, Destiny and Tyson; Karen Duncalfe (Rodney), Rebecca, Mindy (Dave),  and John.  She is also survived by her step-children: Garry (Dianne) Erfle, Janell; Rhonda (Mike) Scheelar, Joanne (John) Bain, Alex, Raelean (Clint) Hickson; sister-in-law, Lillian Birss; and first cousins  Mary VanDusen., Tom Powrie and Jim Powrie. Mary is predeceased by her husband Albert (Lefty) Erfle, her loving parents, Marshall and Adda Birss; and three brothers and sister-in-law, Jim, Fraser (Agnes), and Charles. Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 1:30 pm.  Reverend Molly Kitchen will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of choice, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Hedda and Dennis Cochran - Abbotsford, B.C.: Mary had been a dear friend to us since 1969.  Unfortunately, we lost contact after we moved to B.C. in 1976, but we renewed our friendship when we visited Moose Jaw several years ago and found her to be virtually unchanged.  She truly was a great lady! We deeply mourn her passing but take comfort in knowing that she is with Lefty again. To her family, we express our sincerest condolences.
