Surrounded
by her loving family, ELSIE
ANN DUNN of Providence Place
completed her life’s journey on Tuesday, August 9, 2005. She
was predeceased by her husband Charlie (1979), son-in-law Walter
Shreeves (1979), brother Alex Zaretsky (1981), grandson Brent
Mason (1982), sister-in-law Dorothy Zaretsky (1989) and son Lloyd
(2001). Left to
cherish her memories are her two daughters Shirley
Shreeves-Maertens (George) and Marilynn Yanick (Tony) – both of
Regina; daughters-in-law: Mickey Dunn of Oshawa and Willene Dunn
of Brampton, Ont.; three sisters: Nellie Grokovich and Bette McKee
of Moose Jaw and Marion Dykun (Pete) of Pelly, Saskatchewan, eight
grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren as well as many nieces
and nephews. Elsie was
born in Vita, Manitoba
and moved with her parents and younger
siblings to Arran, Saskatchewan
where her parents began farming.
She attended school and later worked at various occupations
in this area. In 1928
she married Charles Wesley Dunn and together they travelled to and
worked in various parts of Canada. In
1954 Elsie and Charlie settled in Moose Jaw
where they raised their children. Throughout her life Elsie remained a vibrant, caring
individual who loved and was extremely proud of her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. She
enjoyed the company of others and always greeted her company with
a smile and a hug! She
enjoyed life to the fullest and along with sisters Bette and
Nellie was very active in the community and enjoyed dancing,
bowling, Bingo and playing cards.
She was a past member of the Cosmo Senior Centre and XYZ
Club. Elsie’s
family would like to take this opportunity to express their
sincere appreciation for the tender loving care provided by the
wonderful staff of St. Anthony’s Unit of Providence Place. The Funeral Service
will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the
W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Allen Doerksen will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to the Arthritis
Society. In living memory of Elsie, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
