CLARE BRANDON

CLARE CLIFFORD BRANDON passed away peacefully at Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Thursday, May 12, 2005 with his wife, Ellnora at his side. Clare was born January 21, 1910 at Brownlee, Saskatchewan and was the last family member of Carl and Cora Brandon.  He was predeceased by an infant son, Kirk Wayne (1950).  Clare is lovingly missed by his wife, Ellnora, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: son, Brian (Becky) and their children: Brianna and Jenna; daughter, Pam (Phil) Barg and their children: Jason, Stephan and Kristin; son, Greg (Wendy) and their children: Derek, Jared, Tana (Kelly) Fletcher and children: Josh and Amber, Teri (Jason) Peters and their son, Ethan; daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Jans and their children: Sara and Aubrey; and daughter, Lana (Rob) Caufield and their children: Jonathan and Ryan. Clare started farming in 1939 in the Brandview School District northwest of Mortlach and farmed until 1983 when he retired to Moose Jaw, but enjoyed returning to the farm to help.  An avid sports fan, he played hockey, curled, and enjoyed bowling in his retirement years. Clare, a loving father and husband, always enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  We will all miss his innovative, witty, independent, and positive approach to life.  In keeping with Clare’s wishes, a private family service will be held.  Friends and family are invited to attend a Tea at Central Lutheran Church in his honour at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2005.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3 would be gratefully accepted. In living memory of Clare, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Ray, Charlene, Greg and Joel Caufield - Calgary, AB: We were so sorry to hear of your loss.  We wish you all the best in this sad time.

Cheryl Dumba - Calgary, AB: Mrs. Brandon & family, I would like to send you and your family my condolences on the passing of your husband. You don't know me; I work with your daughter Pam, at Telvent, here in Calgary. I was so sorry to hear the news on Thursday. Although I didn't know Mr. Brandon, I know Pam, and if she is anything like he was, then we have all lost a wonderful man. I will remember all of you in my prayers. Cheryl Dumba

Rhonda Elton - La Conner, Washington: Dearest Aunt Ellnora & Family, As you celebrate the life of our dear Uncle Clare today, please know that we are all thinking of you and wishing we could be there with you and the family. Uncle Clare was a very special man, a man of great integrity and grace -- an example to us all. With love, Don Elton, Judy Pierce, Jane Smith, Rhonda Elton, Shelley Elton and our families

Shannon Matthews Smith Huhtala - Devon, AB: Dear Aunt Ellnora & Family, I just wanted to add to Aunt Rhonda's comments.  Aunts Judy, Rhonda and Shelley along with mom (Jane), Vicki, Brad & Sherilee, with our children were all together on Monday (16th).  Uncle Clare's presence was with us
all as we celebrated reconnecting with family.  Even though we couldn't be there, our hearts definitely were...we hope you felt that because we love you all.  My tears fell for a man that to me, represented a foundation.  I was very young the last time I saw Uncle "Buster", but he made a great impression on me - a loving one at that.  Aunt Ellnora - I'm coming in July to get a long overdue hug.  May God be with you, carry you and be your strength.  Love and Blessings forever, Shannon, Dale, Logan, Morgan, Janelle and Delaney.

Betty Ingvardsen - Saskatoon, SK: Dear Aunt Ellnora and family: We were all saddened by the loss of Uncle Buster, (sorry I just could not get used to addressing him as Uncle Clare). I am so grateful for the visit we had last fall. I and my brothers and sisters all remember the wonderful visits we shared growing up. Your home was always warm and inviting. I will always remember his warm smile, his sense of humor and his deep devotion to his family. He was certainly an inspiration to me and I am certain to many others as well. Brian, Pam, Greg, Bonnie, and Lana along with your families, know that our prayers are with you all through this difficult time. May you find comfort in your memories and share them often with each other and your children. God Bless you all with peace... Betty (Johnson) Ingvardsen and family

Ken Johnson - Calgary, AB: Ellnora and family I am so sorry to hear of your loss, my memories of Uncle Buster are old which is unfortunate but seeing his picture on top of this page really did bring a flood of fond memories of him. God Bless and take care of yourself, Ken (Kenny)
