Melvin
Brain, of
Central
Butte
and formerly
of the Keeler district, passed away
February 12,
2005
at the age
of 78 years. Mel was
born in Tisdale, SK
on
September
14, 1926. He joined the Navy during WWII and after the War moved to Ontario.
Mel then moved back to Saskatchewan
where he
married Faye Skeoch in 1959 and they made their home in Saskatoon
until
moving to Keeler where they took over the Skeoch family farm. They continued to farm until retiring in 1985.
They moved to Central
Butte
in 1989.
Mel is predeceased by his wife Faye, his parents, brother
Harold, brothers-in-law Sonny and Donny Skeoch, and sisters-in-law
May Brain and Margaret Skeoch.
He is survived by his aunt Merle Marshall, brother-in-law,
Jimmy Skeoch; nieces, Judy (Michael) Heart and Sheryl (Mike)
Kotelko; cousins, Ed
(Lucille) Brain, June (Phil) Stappler, Bill (Shirley) Marshall,
Debbie (Randy) Elder; and Evelyn (Bud) Snow; and other numerous
nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; also special
friends Carol and Mel Milne and family of Central Butte. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son
Chapel on Thursday February 17, 2005
at 11:00 am. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at
the Chapel by Stan Skrill.
Interment will follow at Sunset
Cemetery. Memorials
to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated.
In living memory of Mel, a tree
will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
