DORIS BABICH

MRS. DORIS MAGDALENE BABICH (nee Zinn) of Moose Jaw, passed away at the Union Hospital on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at the age of 86 years. Doris was born November 13, 1918 in Listowel, Ontario.  She moved west to the Marquis area and attended South Lake School. Doris later moved to Moose Jaw and worked at Evan’s Florist.  She married Steve Babich in 1945 and together they made their home on the farm.  In 1960 they moved to farm in the Pasqua district where they lived until 1979.  Doris then moved to Moose Jaw where she resided until her passing.  She enjoyed traveling, especially south in the winter months and visiting friends and family.  Her enjoyment was china painting, gardening and cooking.  Predeceased by her parents, Valentine and Margaret Zinn; sisters: Ruby Clark and Lillie Lyons, and brother-in-law, William Lyons. Doris is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family: son, Grant (Beverly); grandchildren: Byron (special friend, Kerri), Brandon (special friend, Kelly), Tamara (special friend, Jimmy) and special niece, Gloria Johnson and her family – all from Moose Jaw, as well as many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel.  Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.  For those so wishing, memorials may be made to Ina Grafton Gage Home, 200 Iroquois St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 4T3 or to Extendicare Family Support Group, 1151 Coteau St. W., S6H 5G5. In living memory of Doris, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Ann and Mario Deshaies - Moose Jaw, SK: You are in our hearts and prayers.  We will miss this lovely lady.  We have shared many happy moments with Doris - walking around her garden and admiring her flowers, trying out her delicious recipes for rhubarb cake and bread and butter pickles and painting up a storm!  Precious memories that live on forever.  Doris was full of fun and always so pleased to see us.  Every time we see a wheatfield dancing in the wind we will be assured that Doris is again waltzing with her beloved Steve.  God bless you.
