Robert Thomas
Armstrong
of Avonlea, formerly of Hearne, passed away at Pioneer’s Lodge,
Moose Jaw
on March 19, 2005
at the age of
80 years. Robert was
born February 1,
1925
and farmed at
Hearne, SK
for over 70
years. He was active in
most organizations of the community.
Robert was a student of Amherst
Rural
School
from grade 1
to 10, taking his grade 11 and 12 at Briercrest
High School. He also took a short course in agriculture at the U.of S. in Saskatoon. Robert is predeceased by his father, Robert Morton and
mother, Julia. He is
survived by his wife of 40 years, Verna, who had taken up residence
at the Avonlea Coteau Range Manor.
He also leaves to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. A
Celebration of Robert's life will be held at the Avonlea
United Church, on Monday March 28, 2005
at 2:00.
Reverend
Marilyn Keerak will officiate. Cremation
will take place, with memorialization to follow at Hillcrest
Cemetery, Avonlea.
Memorials to the Avonlea Lions Club, would be appreciated.
In living memory of Robert, a tree
will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
