DR. DOUGLAS EWART

DR. DOUGLAS McLAREN EWART passed away peacefully on August 18, 2004 just days after his 87th birthday. Born and raised in Moose Jaw, he went to Queens University in Kingston where he studied Medicine graduating with a degree in Anesthesiology.  He practiced in Moose Jaw and later in Regina, and was a deeply caring and much loved physician.  He was predeceased by his parents, Susie and McLaren, and his brothers, Jack, Jim and Eric.  Doug is survived by his wife, Louise; children, Patty, Doug and Judith, and his grandson, Matthew.  We are deeply saddened that Doug is no longer with us, but take solace in knowing that he is now resting peacefully.  We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Guardian Grove and most recently St. Anthony’s at Providence Place. It was a comfort for us knowing that Doug was in such capable and caring hands. In keeping with Doug’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Private memorialization will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials for the Providence Place Foundation (Guardian Grove) 100-2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1B8 would be appreciated. In living memory of Doug, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

“Good night, sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest”.

Lynn Forsyth   nee  Lewis - Coolum Beach Qld Australia: Dear Mrs Ewart, Patty, Doug and Judy Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of Dr Ewart.  I recall many wonderful times spent at your home on 2nd Avenue. Although many years have passed since we have been in touch I wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you.  With Kind Regards  Lynn Forsyth (Lewis)

Lindy Kasperski - Regina, SK: Deepest condolences to all the family. I went to Central with Doug (1963-1967). My grandparents Archibald (1878-1966) and Gladys Campbell (1910 -    ) lived at 1159-2nd Ave. N.W. about 1956-68, across the street from the Cripps residence. Immediately after 4 years of a long hike to Central, my parents (Mike and Sheila Kasperski and sisters, Diane, Janet and Susan) moved into 1120 in July 1967 (next door to Dr. Garner's) and were there until 1973. I remember the 1966(or 65?) White Buick Skylark and poker games involving Doug, Grant Beattie, Dave Cripps, Brian Lewis, Byron Howard, et.al. at the Ewart residence and Dr. Ewart admonishing us not to gamble.

David and Denise Amies - Moose Jaw, SK: His skilful contribution to Medicine, dedication to patient care, and personal humanity will be among our fond memories.
