It
is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of
their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Violet Jane
Coulter (nee Bogle). Born August 27,
1910
at Holstein, Ontario, she passed
away
October 29,
2004
in Moose Jaw. Violet moved to Viceroy, SK where she attended school until
grade 11. She worked
in the Viceroy Post Office and as a typesetter in a print shop.
Violet married Reg Coulter and they moved to Crestwynd
where they farmed until July 1997when they retired to Moose Jaw. She is survived by three children: Cora, Sharon (Bryan) Gilbert,
and Terry (Spencer) Barber; grandchildren:
Shelley (Marcel), Kevin (Bonnie), Shawn (Chere), Chad
(Cindy),
Jody (Mike), and Jenna (Chase); great-grandchildren: Carmine, Natalie, Taylor, Brandy,
Kelsi, Brittnee, and Reese. Violet
was the centre of her family and worked hand in hand on the farm
with her husband Reg. As
a young woman on the farm she taught Sunday School at Piety
Hill
School
and gave
neighbours sewing and quilting lessons. Gardening, needle work, and knitting was a passion. She always welcomed everyone to her home, giving them
goodies (tea and cookies) and was always ready to add an extra
plate at the table. Violet
will be dearly missed by her family.
She will always be remembered for her independence, strong
will, and determination to accomplish anything she set her mind
to. She is predeceased
by her husband, Reg in 2001. The
Graveside Service and interment will be held at Sunset
Cemetery
on Tuesday November 2, 2004
at 2:30 pm. Pastor
Cory Steinson will officiate.
Friends are invited to further share this day with the
family at a tea at the Alliance
Church
at 3:00 pm.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
Donations in memory of Violet to the charity of your
choice, would be appreciated.
In living memory of Violet, a
tree will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
“Do
not stand at my grave and weep, as I am no longer there.
Instead
rejoice as I am now with my Lord and Savior.”
