SYDNEY COOPER

SYDNEY COOPER born December 23, 1915 in the Keeler district, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2004.  Sydney was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; two sons: Calvin and David, parents, Ada and Christopher, sister, Madeline (Peggy), and three brothers: George, Horace and Roy.  Syd is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (Jerry) Cox and granddaughter, Nicole of Calgary; two sisters: Dorothy Kemp and Betty Murray; brothers: Clarence, Donny, Calvin (Bud), and many nieces and nephews.  He was a former C.P. Rail employee and had retired from the CGTX.  Syd spent many enjoyable days fishing, gardening and watching hockey and ball games with Dorothy.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2004 at 3:30 p.m.   Pastor John Duerksen will officiate.  Syd’s family would like to thank the staff at Oxford Place for all their care and kindness they provided to Dad.  Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. In living memory of Syd, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Lenore  Pettapiece - Moose Jaw: Our kids spent many happy times with Syd and Dorothy. They were wonderful people. Syd came over every day to visit the kids and have a coffee or just sit and play with the girls.
