Alice
A. Armstrong
passed away March 26,
2004
at the age
of 93 years. Alice
was born on
May 11,
1911
in Regina, Sask.
She moved to BC in 1936 and worked in various places,
including the Hotel Vancouver and a classy golf course until 1960.
She moved to
Moose Jaw
in 1967 and
worked at the Royal Canadian Legion until 1979. She lived at High
Park
Towers
for many
years until moving to
Capilano
Court
in 2000.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #54 for 26 years. She is predeceased by her first husband, Frederick
Hurren in 1943 and brother, Fred Dubin in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Frederick (Dorothy) Hurren –
Vancouver, BC; grandson, Danny Hurren – Calgary, AB, great-grandson, David Hurren – Coquitlam, BC; two sisters, Lee
Ball, and Kae Panko – both of Moose Jaw; and many nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J.Jones
& Son Funeral Home on Tuesday
March 30, 2004
at 10:30
am. Linda Owens will officiate. Memorialization will take place in Vancouver
at a later
date. In
living memory of Alice, a tree will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
