ALBERT "LEFTY" ERFLE

Albert (Lefty) Erfle, born on March 16, 1922 at Fox Valley, passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 28, 2003 in the Regina General Hospital, with his family at his side. Albert (Lefty) farmed most of his life in the Woodrow area.  He was well known for his baseball accomplishments as a pitcher and player throughout the province.  He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in August 1989. Albert was also an avid curling enthusiast in his younger days.  He is survived by his wife, Mary;  son, Garry (Dianne) and daughter, Rhonda (Michael) Scheelar; grandchildren: Janell, Joanne (John), Realean (Clint), Darren, and Brad; great-granddaughter, Alex; several step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. Albert is predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Lena Erfle, three brothers and one sister. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, January 2, 2003 at 10:30 am. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 0E1, would be appreciated. In living memory of Albert, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Brenda Graff -  Strathmore, Alberta.: Mary, Garry, Rhonda, and families. I was saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. Uncle Lefty was a sweet man with a big heart. I'm glad I had a chance to visit with him in '96 in Kelowna at my Dad's funeral. Hold onto your memories, it will help ease the sorrow.
