MYRTLE
LILLIAN EDGAR,
passed away November 15, 2003
at the age of 90
years. Lillian was
born
November 4, 1913
in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
She graduated in nursing from the Moose Jaw General
Hospital
in 1934. After taking post-graduate training in Montreal, and working at the
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, she returned to Moose Jaw
where she was
operating room supervisor at the General
Hospital
prior to her
marriage. She was a
private duty nurse for many years after her marriage.
Lillian was a member of the Eastern Star, Mizpah Chapter
since 1968 and was a Past Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand
Matron of District #9 and Grand Representative to Arkansas. She was organist at Minto
United
Church
for thirty years and
at Eastern Star for many years.
She was an avid golfer and member of Lynbrook Golf Club.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, A.S.
(Bill) Edgar on November 23, 2002, her parents, David
and Mabel Currie, her sister, Muriel Currie and her brother, David
Vivian Currie, V.C. She
is survived by her son, D. Walter Edgar, her daughter, Donna (Don)
Maxwell and grandchildren: Darrin (Michelle) Maxwell and Duncan
Maxwell – all of
Calgary. A Memorial Service
will be held at Minto
United
Church,
Moose
Jaw
on Wednesday, November 19,
2003
at 1:30 p.m.
Reverend John Carley will officiate.
Memorialization will take place at Rosedale
Cemetery. Memorials to Minto
United
Church, 1036 –
7th Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 4C4
or to the charity of
choice would be appreciated. In
living memory of Myrtle, a tree will be planted in Wakamow
Valley
by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
