VERA DUNLOP

Vera Victoria May Dunlop, aged 89 years, of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, with her family by her side. Vera was born in Moose Jaw on May 24, 1914 .  She worked at Swift Meats and as a clerk at Eaton’s for many years.  Vera enjoyed gardening and flowers, and loved to sew, but her passion was her baking.  Not only family and friends sampled her baking; she took many ice-cream pails full to her doctor, dentist, car mechanic, etc. Vera was also very involved at St.George’s Anglican Church where she volunteered many hours.  She had a great sense of humour and always had a joke to share. Vera moved into Pioneers Lodge in February 2000 where she kept active in the many programs there. Vera is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Annie Archer; husband, Charlie; sisters, Lillian and Eileen; brother, Harry; son, Bryan and grandson, Mark.  She is survived by her sisters: Ruby – Surrey, BC; Ivy – Victoria, BC; Elsie – Moose Jaw; and brother, Roy – Regina Beach;  grandchildren:  Brenda, Wanda and Heather and  numerous great-grandchildren.  She also leaves to mourn a special niece Jill (Lance and family), along with many other nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held at St.George’s Anglican Church, 965 Montgomery Street, on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Pioneers Lodge Recreation Dept. 1000 Albert ST. Moose Jaw, S6H 2Y2, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Vera, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
