DONNA DUKE

DONNA NORENE DUKE (nee Camplin).  It is with great sorrow that the family of Donna Duke announce her passing on February 9, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer which she fought with grace and dignity.  Donna had a very rewarding and successful teaching career in Moose Jaw with assignments at William Grayson, Prince Arthur, King George and Peacock.  She also taught at S.T.I. (S.I.A.S.T.) for two years.  She was highly respected by her colleagues and students alike.  Donna was a forty year member of Beta Sigma Phi and was an active member of the Hillcrest Sports Centre.  She was also very involved in community service, volunteering her time with the Moose Jaw Dance Festival, two World Curling Championships and the 1996 Saskatchewan Summer Games.  Donna enjoyed playing golf and bridge, walks in Wakamow and was an avid gardener.  Donna and Claude were fortunate to travel to many parts of Canada, Hawaii, Europe and the British Isles. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and all her many friends.  She will never be forgotten.  She was predeceased by an infant son, Robert, her parents Eileen and Sydney Camplin, her grandparents, Blanche and Ross Schlosser, an aunt, Ruth McLeod, an uncle, Wayne Schlosser, cousin, Vernon Schlosser and her mother-in-law, Emily Duke.  She leaves to mourn her loving husband of forty years, Claude, son, Scott – Yellowknife, daughter, Karen (Hugh) – London, U.K. and a very special grandson, Scott.  Also surviving are her uncles, Glen Schlosser – Saskatoon, Bill McLeod – Lombardy, aunt, Pat Schlosser – Kerrobert, sister-in-law, Elaine Duke – Vancouver, brother-in-law, David Duke (Mary Jane) – Vancouver, Laura and David as well as numerous cousins. A ‘Celebration of Donna’s Life’ will be held at Zion United Church 423 Main St. N., Moose Jaw on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 1:30 p.m., celebrated by Linda Owens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0E1. In living memory of Donna, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
