EMMA DOYLE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of EMMA DOYLE (nee Heiydt) of Moose Jaw; beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years on January 25, 2003. Emma was born June 21, 1914 at Ernfold, SK. As the spouse of a rural school teacher, she had the opportunity to reside in the many communities prior to moving to Moose Jaw in 1964.  Emma was a sports enthusiast all her life and enjoyed competing in softball, curling and bowling.  She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada and was a member of the Moose Jaw Duplicate Bridge Club.  She loved to travel and enjoyed the cottage life at Lake Diefenbaker.  Emma will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Howard; their four sons: Paul (Doreen), Glen (Loretta), Dwight (Pat), Bernie (companion Lynn Allardyce); eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sisters: Eva Smith, Tillie Nelson and Freeda Hewitt, brother, Walter Heiydt and by numerous nieces and nephews.  Emma is predeceased by her parents Fred and Christina Heiydt, a brother, John Heiydt; sisters, Lydia Weinbender, Anna Van Loosen; and her son Allan Doyle.  The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff of Pioneer Lodge for their compassionate care and concern for Emma. A Prayer Service has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 Third Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw. Father Michael Conteh will preside. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Society of Canada, P.O. Box 652 Stn. Main, Edmonton, AB, T5J 9Z9 In living memory of Emma, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Maureen and Roy Strathdee - Prince Albert, SK: We were so sorry to hear about Aunt Emma's death.  I'm so glad I got to visit with her over Christmas.  I can still remember her teaching all of us how to play cards.  Our thoughts and prayer are with you all at this time.

Thelma Williams - North Saanich BC:  Thinking of you all at this time.  I'm glad Mom and I got the chance to visit Aunt Emma when I was out at Christmas.  I will always remember her for the interest she took in our lives and her warm smile.  May God keep her and care for her. Thelma Williams 

Bev McLachlan - Outlook, Sask.: We were so sorry to hear about Emma's passing, but we know she has gone on to a better life.  She will always be watching over her family from her peaceful place in Heaven. I remember the great times we had with Emma and all the Doyles at our cabins at Palliser Regional Park.  We'll miss Emma and her great stories.
