Guest Book Tom Parr - North Vancouver, BC Jenny Baillie - Moose Jaw, SK: Girl Guides and Home Care Ann Cundall -Milden,
Sask.: Fond memories flood back. My own mom, Rose Cundall.
passed away just 3 weeks ago. May they both be singing campfire
songs in Heaven. For so much of the person I am today, I owe my
experience with Girl Guides and personally, the things I learned at camp
with Dora Crozier. I can still light a mean campfire with only one
match and make a washstand that can hold the weight of a person. I
can pitch most any kind of tent and I remember how to make
"witches brew"-- a form of camp chili, and could build a
lean-to if I have to. Because of her and with her Guidance I became a
Gold-Cord Guide, and accomplishment of which I am still proud, even at
50 years of age. Most of all, I learned some great leadership and people
skills which stood me in good stead throughout my life as a teacher and
as a person. I still tell "Camping with Dora"
stories to this day! Some days she made me "Real Mad" with her
hard lessons and gruff ways, but those lessons stuck, and I know that
underneath that gruff exterior, there was a real teddy bear at heart. Diane Kraus - Kitchener, Ont. Many fond memories of Aunt Dora. Very glad I had a visit with her last summer. Al George and Marion Parr - Mississauga, ON.: As a youngster I remember the many happy times we had at the Crozier farm in Tuxford and the bonding with all the cousins. Also the many boisterous times we cousins had at family get togethers, often wonder how Aunt Dora put up with it. But that was her nature and we loved her for it, though she was easy going she could be stern when the moment called for it. We will miss you Aunt Dora and will always cherish the good memories that we experienced over the years. Kaye Airth - Abbotsford, BC: Sorry that my health has not permitted a visit lately but I do remember that last visit we had in Moose Jaw and our many coffee breaks. I will always be grateful for the way Dora helped me so much when Mother was sick-her love and kindness will always be remembered by myself and my family. Lieutenant Colonle Lawrence D MacIsaac - Ontario: I was saddened to receive the news of Dora's death in June. Dora became a very special friend during my student ministry internship in Crane Valley / Davyroyd in 1981. While contact has been infrequent, it was always a delight to receive her Christmas letter to hear about her family and life. Dora taught me a great deal about my life and I can credit her love and support in significant changes I made with my own relationship with family and friends. She was a pioneer in assisting young student ministers to examine their own personal needs and goals as they prepared for the sometimes difficult role as a minister in the church. While there is no doubt in my mind that she was a Christian feminist, she lived out these values without judging those who viewed church and faith differently. Dora, you were a living messenger of God for me, and I know that you now share in eternal life at God's side. May you enjoy your reward in Her presence. Blessing. Lawrence, Sandy & Ainsley |
