ELISE COULSON

ELISE CATHERINE COULSON (Paysen), aged 95 years, of Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on October 21, 2003 .  Elise was the oldest of eight children born to John and Barbara Paysen on a farm north of Chaplin.  Elise attended Luther College in 1924 and graduated with the first graduating class in 1927.  In 1930 she graduated from the Regina General Hospital with her Registered Nursing Certificate.  On June 20, 1936 she married Boyd Coulson, they had four children.  The three girls were born in Moose Jaw and their son was born in Central Butte .  Elise nursed in Central Butte for many years, as well as being the Matron of the Hospital for twenty-five years.  Elise had many blessings in life.  She loved her chosen profession of nursing.  She loved people, and especially her family, her children and grandchildren.  Elise was a devout Christian; a lady of great strength, common sense and wisdom.  She was a great example of accepting everyone for what they were; she was non judgmental.  Observing growth in plants, people and animals intrigued her.  Gardening and the beauty of a prairie day refreshed her spirit.  She is survived by her brother Ed Paysen (Mary); sisters Erna Foster and Martha (Ted) Hoover ; daughters Eileen (Richard) Chant, Gretta (Gordon) Smith and Shirley Coulson and son Ernie (Gail) Coulson; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  A Service of remembrance celebrating the life of Elise will be held at Central Lutheran Church , 27 Hochelaga St. W. , Moose Jaw on Monday, October 27, 2003 at 1p.m.   Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate.  Memorialization will take place at the family plot, Central Butte Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials for the Central Lutheran Church would be gratefully accepted.  In living memory of Elise a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Pat Gilhooly - Regina Sk: I extend my deepest sympathy to all of you as you mourn the passing of your Mother. May God comfort and bless you and your families.

Enid   Young - Regina SK: We were so sorry to read of Mrs. Coulson's passing.  Chateau St. Michael won't be the same without her. I have a nice picture of your mom with our grandson, Noah, taken in July, 1998 at Chateau St. Michael, when Noah was 3 months old. Mrs. Coulson's name was synonymous with Central Butte Hospital and excellent health care when I was growing up on the farm north of Parkbeg. Our deepest sympathy to all of you.  I know you will have many happy memories to keep your mother near. Enid & Wayne Young

Pat and Earl Potts: Regina, Sask : We are truly sad to hear of your Moms passing.  Sorry we can't make the funeral but our thoughts and prayers are with you all. She was a beautiful lady and helped everyone in her years of work.  God truly is getting a beautiful Angel....God Bless All
