JORDAN LOUIS BOOKOUT

April 20, 1978 July 4, 2003

Peacefully, at home, surrounded by family and friends, Jordan’s courageous journey on earth ended, July 4, 2003, after two heroic battles with cancer. Jordan was born on April 20, 1978 , into a family of love. Jordan was predeceased by his grandfather, Pete Bookout.  Jordan leaves behind precious memories for his parents, Lou and Karen; his sister, Jillian (Tyson); and the love of his life, his girlfriend, Jade; his grandparents, Ken and Kathy Brawdy, and Marie Bookout; his aunts and uncles, Mark and Karen Brawdy, Donna Bookout and Glenn Davies; Ken and Gaye Bookout, Jackie Bookout and Henry Thomas, Robbie and Joe Saliger; his cousins, Derrick (Trinda) Bookout, Stacey (Ryan) Smyth, Amber (Danny) Lebrun, Janna, Cari, Ritchie and Allison Bookout, Karrin Saliger, Kyle and Chayse Brawdy. Jordan was blessed with a huge host of friends including his dog, “Alice”.  Jordan attended Palliser Heights and Peacock Collegiate, and was so looking forward to graduating with his degree in nursing.  His kindness, compassion and his ability to empathize were some of his greatest strengths and were so apparent in the career path he chose. Jordan loved life…and life loved Jordan.  He lived each day to the fullest and never knew fear. There wasn’t anything Jordan didn’t do or experience, from the hobbies he chose, to the places he travelled.  Winning the first battle against cancer, Jordan displayed tremendous inner strength, and that same inner strength remained during the second battle.  His positive attitude combined with his grace and dignity made his final journey a learning experience for all. Even though the last two months of Jordan’s life were spent in darkness, he shone and radiated enormous warmth and strength to all that visited.  His family feels blessed that so many were able to share in the last chapter of  Jordan’s life, and were able to tell him how much he was loved.  Jordan has now started a new journey in God’s Kingdom.  He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.  A Celebration of  Jordan’s Life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N., Moose Jaw.  Della Ferguson will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jordan’s memory may be made to the Moose Jaw Canadian Cancer Relay for Life, 2004, c/o Diane Therrien, 360 5thAve. N.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 7J1. In living memory of Jordan, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take,

but rather by the number of times life takes your breath away."

You loved well and were well-loved and that's what makes us all so broken-hearted now.  Wherever you are in the Kingdom, please help all of us to take care of your Mom, Dad, Jilly and Jade, because the crater you left is so big and we can't do it alone.  Thank you for teaching us how to be so brave when it's so dark.      "How wonderful life was with you in this world!"   Karen, Lou, Jilly, Jade, Ken, Kathy, Marie and Families - with the deepest love and the deepest sorrow for your dear, sweet Jordan.

Again, not many leave behind such a legacy. We are so sorry for your loss....Keith, Sandy & Brady
