NORMA BABA

NORMA BABA (nee Bateman), loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at the age of 68 years. Norma was born December 31, 1934 in Bateman, Saskatchewan. At age 17, she left Bateman for Swift Current where she began her career at Safeway.  She married Farris in 1955, moving to Moose Jaw in 1961 and continued to work at Safeway until her retirement in 1994.  Some of her greatest joys in life were watching her children play sports, her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, reading and playing cards. Norma leaves to mourn, her loving husband of 47 years, Farris, her children: Jim (Penny), Tim (Susan), Kathy (Marcel) Bolen, and Gary (Nicole); nine grandchildren: Jamie, Mitch, Melani, Travis, Robyn, Stephanie, Brooklyn, Kaitlin and Zachary; two sisters: Colleen Frank and Treva Swallow and one brother, Cliff Bateman. She also leaves to mourn her many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 17, 2003 at 4:00 pm in the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Betty Bradley will officiate.  Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to Timothy Eaton Centre, 510 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 3K3. In living memory of Norma, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
