MARGARET ALLEN

MARGARET (ISABEL) ALLEN, nee: Simmons, wife of Ernest R., passed away Monday, May 19, 2003. Isabel was born in Unity, Saskatchewan, May 24, 1920 and was raised by maternal grandparents until she was eight.  Isabel completed her high school education in Meota then worked as a telephone operator in Tisdale where she met her husband, Ernest. The couple were married in North Battleford in 1945 and made their homes in Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Luseland, Biggar and Innisfail. Isabel was a Sunday School Teacher, served on the Altar Guild and was a choir member. She was active in Jobs Daughters, and was a member of St. Barnabas Couples Club.  She loved to sing, read, play games and watch sports.  Isabel liked the feeling of a close-knit family and encouraged regular family reunions which they celebrate to this day.  She leaves to mourn her husband of 57 years, Ernest; two sons: Clinton (Diana) and Kent (Kathy) and daughter, Margaret Ann (Randy Udahl); her beloved grandchildren: Cynthia (Craig Berry), Carla (Todd Markus), Lauren and Dominic.  Also surviving are her sisters: Verna, Shirley and Flora; brothers: Glenn, Jack and Neil, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Following cremation, A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 2:00 pm at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Moose Jaw.  Reverend Don Shepherd will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Arthritis Society, 110-2550-12th Ave., Regina, Sask., S6H 3X1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Isabel, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
