ARNOLD FIELD

It is with deep sadness the family mourn the passing of ARNOLD M. FIELD of Moose Jaw.  With his family by his side, Arnold passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Arnold was born on the family farm near Midale, Sask. June 30, 1935, the only child of Martin and Edith Field.  The family moved to make their home in Moose Jaw in 1952. On June 16, 1956 Arnold married Ruby Elaine Lynds.  Arnold’s life was a journey of different challenges.  He retired as Chief of Maintenance at the Providence Hospital in 1994.  Arnold was community minded and served with various clubs and organizations including: a long time member of St.Andrew’s United Church; AOTS, serving as Western Vice President and Handshake Editor; St. John’s Ambulance; ACT for 21 years and Past Dominion Vice President; the Sask. Lung Association, receiving a humanitarian award; the Canadian Diabetes Association, acting as Secretary Treasurer of the Moose Jaw District; and the Cardiac Action Support Group.  Arnold is predeceased by an infant daughter, Carman on December 25, 1959;  his parents; and his mother and father-in-law, Jean and Archie Lynds.  He is survived by his loving wife of 46 1/2 years, Ruby Elaine;  his children:  David (Charlotte); Steven (Leslie) and their children Krysta, Dean and Kara; Lori-Lynn (Garth) Juhnke; and Randall (Gail); also long time and faithful pet, “Morgan”; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews; and special family friend, Joan Finn. Funeral Services will be held at St.Andrew’s United Church on Friday, December 27, 2002 at 1:30 pm.  Dr. Donald Laing will officiate.  Private Family interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St.E., S6H 1H3, or the Sask. Lung Association. 1231 8th St.E., Saskatoon, S7H 0S5, would be appreciated.  In living memory of Arnold, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home
